Canine behaviour is a very complex subject and one size does not fit all. At OABC we bring you years of experience in dealing with the vast spectrum of behaviour issues dogs can experience, without resorting to coercion or intimidation.

Owners are encouraged and coached to understand their pets at their own pace, and the emphasis is on fostering a mutually beneficial partnership between you and your dog, as well as rehabilitating and training your dog using kind and effective methods.

The OABC does not support the use of aversive (harsh) methods of any kind, nor the scientifically inaccurate notion that owners need to ‘dominate’ their dogs to make them comply. These methods often cause serious problems, put owners at risk and greatly damage the human-canine bond.

We can help you and your dog with anything - ranging from simple training issues such as pulling on lead, mouthing, chewing and/or nipping, to more serious problems such as barking, hyperactivity, separation anxiety, phobias, obsessive behaviours, fearfulness, and all types of aggression. There are too many to list here so please give call us to discuss your particular needs.

Affordable phone consultations are also available for simple but invaluable advice on:

  • choosing a new puppy or dog to suit your personality type-energy levels and lifestyle
  • bringing a new puppy home
  • how to safely introduce a new dog to your household
  • how to introduce your new baby to your dog
  • managing a multi-dog household
  • behavioural changes in senior dogs
